Where are you from?
Born and raised in Washington, DC.
When did you know you wanted to be a fashion designer?
Very early. I started sewing when I was 10. My fave thing to do was touch the fabrics at G Street fabrics in Rockville, MD.
Did you get a formal fashion education?
Yes. I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design in New York City.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to enter the fashion industry?
Never give up. You have to be really determined and thick skinned to be recognized on a global scale.
What are your thoughts on the new designers who are self taught from Youtube?
Technology is a huge advantage for designers now. But, there are fundamentals and relationships that have to be built in order to really sell to large audiences.
What's next for SAINT CHIC?
To grow the assortment. Travel more to find the next big thing!
